Air Force Reserve Component personnel are responsible for providing guidance for operations in support of U.S. African Command and the 17th Expeditionary Air Force. These individuals are also responsible for maintaining and modernizing the Air Force’s field equipment. The Purchasing Division provides logistical support to the Air Force and its global partners. The sourcing division develops and implements information technology solutions and processes for the NAF and its installations. AFSVA provides operations training and customer service for the NAF’s food service and lodging systems, and is responsible for overseeing the services readiness programs. The Air Force Information Management System is similar to the ones used at universities.
The Nonappropriated Fund Procurement Office (AFNIPO) was created in 1972. This office provides global strategic sourcing support, certification of NAF contracting officers, and training in the Air Force’s procurement policy. The mission of the AFNAFPO is to provide value through complex contracts and support for the NAF’s worldwide activities. It is the only sourcing agency with a comprehensive portfolio.
