In November 2021, Jammu and Kashmir tourism saw its highest footfall since 2010, with nearly 1,27,000 visitors. That year, the numbers rose again, with almost 6327 tourists visiting the valley. The number of tourists in October was 92,527, a rise of about 10% from the previous year. The increase in tourism was attributed to several government campaigns and roadshows held across the country.

This year, tourism in Kashmir witnessed a boom. According to the Directorate of Tourism Kashmir (J&K), the state welcomed more than one lakh tourists in November. Last year, this figure was just 97,000, but in November, it soared to more than 1 lakh. The rise in tourist numbers in Kashmir is a testament to the state’s efforts to promote the region and attract more tourists.

The influx of tourists prompted the government to organize 21 roadshows throughout the state. Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the government of Kashmir also conducted a series of campaigns, including promoting the state’s mountain ranges. These campaigns helped boost tourism in the region. In November 2020, nearly 17,000 people visited the valley. In October, the tourism figures were around nine thousand.

As per official data, almost 1,27,000 tourists flocked to the state’s twin tourist resorts Gulmarg and Pahalgam. This is the highest number recorded in the last seven years. Moreover, winter tourism is also experiencing a huge revival, with winter sports and summer tracking programs being conducted throughout the state. The department has launched a new year welcome program, which begins on Christmas day and concludes on the night of December 31. These initiatives are meant to boost the winter tourism season, and send a signal to the tourists that the region is ready to welcome them.

Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the tourism industry in Kashmir has recovered from the crisis and is experiencing a major boom. The tourism sector has seen many campaigns since the first COVID-19 pandemic hit the country in 2010. The department has also organized a New Year’s welcome program for its citizens. The roadshows are a key factor in promoting the state to tourists.

This is a great sign for the tourism industry in the state. In the last decade, the numbers of visitors have been declining, but they have now reached a record high. About 60,000 tourists are expected to visit the state in November. In contrast, only 93 percent of those who visited the region in the previous year had come during the winter months. In spite of the fall in tourist numbers, the number of tourists in the state in November has increased.

In November, 6327 tourists visited Kashmir. This is the highest number in seven years! This is due to the first COVID-19 pandemic since it hit the country. As a result, the tourism industry in Kashmir has experienced a major boost this year. It is also hosting the most events this year! With the increasing tourism, the department plans to celebrate International Mountain Day on December 11 and Christmas and New Year in a big way.

This is the highest tourist footfall in seven years! The number of tourists in November has reached almost a record high, with nearly 150,000 visitors. This is the highest number since 2011. The numbers of foreigners who travel to the region are expected to increase.
