The Kaimai Mamaku Forest Park, situated just outside of the town of Tuahu, is home to the spectacular Tuahu Kauri tree. The track starts from the end of the Hot Springs Road and leads to a magnificent kauri tree. The track is well-benched and graded and winds through native bush. There is a side track leading to a platform that surrounds a massive kea tree. Eventually, the track rises to the crest of the Kaimai Range and offers wonderful views of the Hauraki basin.
